Mike Reese was born and raised in a small section of Mount Pleasant Township. He earned a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in History. In 2002 and a Master of Business Administration with a focus on management. Prior to his election to the House, Reese worked in the admissions office of the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Just before his first term as a state representative, Reese was the Westmoreland County Assistant Director of Financial Administration. He serves on the House Commerce and Children and Youth Committees.
